Invitation to Girls’ Day and Boys’ Day 2026
What is a typical workday like at a modern media company? What kinds of jobs go into creating websites, apps, magazines, and marketing campaigns? Students will find the answers to these questions at Girls’ Day and Boys’ Day 2026 at FORUM MEDIA GROUP in Merching.
On Thursday, April 23, 2026, we will open our doors to young people from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event is primarily aimed at students in grades 7 through 9. Students may be excused from school for this morning.
National day of action
Girls’ Day and Boys’ Day, which take place simultaneously, are nationwide career exploration events aimed at breaking down gender stereotypes and discovering career opportunities. Girls’ Day focuses on professions in which women have historically been underrepresented – at FORUM, for example, this includes IT and e-commerce. Boys’ Day offers boys insights into creative and communication-oriented career fields such as media design, marketing communications, event planning, and media management. The goal is to encourage young people to choose a career that aligns with their interests.
Throughout the morning, participants will immerse themselves in the working world of FORUM: They’ll get to know the company, explore training and study programs in the media and IT sectors, and discover which skills are valuable and just how diverse the job profiles are. Instead of long lectures, the focus is on trying things out, asking questions, and engaging directly with trainees and students.

Commitment to a successful start to a career
Supporting young talent in the region is of great importance to FORUM. Our company does not only prepare young people for their career choices on a particular day, but also cooperates continuously with many local schools – for example, through job application workshops, work experience days at the company, or career fairs. The goal is always to provide insights into the working world, demonstrate real-life hiring processes, and make the transition from school to the workforce as transparent as possible.
The company’s own trainees and students at the Merching location also play an important role in this initiative: they introduce their respective trades, share their journey into the company, and are available to answer questions from the students. They actively participate in events such as Girls’ Day and Boys’ Day or career fairs, making them credible ambassadors for the FORUM MEDIA GROUP.

Last year, the participants in Girls’ and Boys’ Day worked with our trainees to create figures that illustrated the various professions at FORUM.
Firsthand answers
In addition to gaining insights into day-to-day work, the young people participating in Girls’ Day and Boys’ Day 2026 will receive practical advice on job applications, apprenticeships, and studying. In an open and personal atmosphere, they can ask questions at any time, and the apprentices will share their experiences and perspectives – ranging from traditional business professions to future-oriented topics such as artificial intelligence and digital media.
The program is accessible to all. There are 30 spots available for both Girls’ Day and Boys’ Day, so we recommend registering early through the official Girls’ Day and Boys’ Day portals. The spoken language throughout the day is German. Additional information about the company and its apprenticeship and degree programs can be found on the Forum Media Group website.
