Funding for a new refrigerated vehicle
By purchasing an advertisement worth €500, FORUM was one of 56 companies in our region to contribute to the purchase of a new refrigerated vehicle for the Tafel Friedberg, a local food bank. The urgently needed vehicle can now be used to regularly drive to supermarkets and food-producing companies in and around Friedberg to collect goods and deliver them safely to the Tafel’s premises without interrupting the cooling chain.
Ceremonial handover
On January 31, 2025, the Aichach-Friedberg Caritas Association, to which the Friedberg and Aichach food banks belong, invited sponsors and volunteers to the premises of the Friedberg food bank to celebrate the ceremonial handover of the vehicle. CFO/COO Katrin Krauß-Herkert was also present at the event and took a look at the new vehicle with the FORUM logo on the right-hand side door. Robert Winzer, Managing Director of the Caritas Association, acknowledged the contributions of the sponsors in his speech.
After almost 18 years, the Friedberg food bank’s old vehicle had reached the end of its service life and urgently needed to be replaced. The Caritas association of the district turned to Caritiva GmbH, a company that specializes in social sponsoring. The organization contacted local companies, including FORUM, and sold advertising space in various sizes on the future vehicle. In total, around 70,000 euros were raised to finance the vehicle.

High demand for help
With the new refrigerated vehicle, the Tafel Friedberg collects food that is close to its best-before date or can no longer be sold for other reasons from supermarkets and food-producing companies and brings it to the Tafel’s premises. The doors of the food bank open every Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. for those who need help. Following the outbreak of war in Ukraine in particular, there has been an increase in the number of people coming to the Tafel Friedberg. Under the management of Bernhard Ziegler and with the help of 19 volunteers, the food bank currently supplies 140 food bank cards with 250 beneficiaries.
FORUM is proud to make a contribution through this financial support to promote the Friedberg food bank’s important commitment to the community. Collaborations like this strengthen the social community and show that cooperation among different companies can advance important projects.
